So, of course, i had to know how many points it was worth for my diet. After looking it up i found out that the salad was 12 points... which isn't too bad, but still kind of up there considering i only get 22 points a day.
So, i went to the grocery store today to find the different ingredients so that i could make my own "healthier" version of the salad.
I didn't use any pecans (which is actually REALLY good) because they are pretty high in points. Maybe on another day when i have more points i will. AND i didn't add the purple onions or bacon (again, for the purpose of having as little points as possible).
This is the end result. One 2 oz. piece of chicken cut up into small bite size portions, a couple cherry tomatoes, 1/8 of a cup of blue cheese crumbles, 2 tblsp of bacon vinagerette and 1 cup of spinache leaves. All of the ingredients came out to equal 4 points together!
So i ate this salad for lunch and it satisfied my hunger! I was pleasantly surprised!
Now i can splurge a little tonight for hamburger night!! :)
